RESUMPTION OF 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION THROUGH ONLINE LEARNING

Following the directive of the Federal Government to Tertiary Institutions in the Country to resume session through online teaching, and in line with the Cross River State Government directives through the Ministry of Quality Education for resumption of Academic activities through online method as a contingent plan amidst the global pandemic challenge, rather than students stay at home resulting to time wasting. Based on this memorandum and following the meeting of the Rector with the Head of Academic Planning, Deans of Schools and Head of ICT, the Rector, Cross River Institute of Technology and Management, Ugep has keyed into this vision and directed that the ICT Department should create CR-ITM Remote Learning Virtual Classroom Platform (RLVCP), for resumption of Academic activities with immediate effect. The Remote Learning Virtual Classroom Platform will be created to incorporate activities such as:
(i) Online Classroom for teaching and learning on various course modules (ii) Interactive class activities (iii) Total student learning experience (iv) Submission of Assignments, projects and course work (v) Real-time learning (vi) Research (vii) Administration of course assessments (viii) Grading of course assessments and feedback.
The Rector further approved that henceforth, online learning will become an integral component for boosting teaching and learning experience in CR-ITM.
Furthermore, ALL Heads of Departments are by this directive requested to make the following requirements available to the Head of ICT, through mail:
1. Functional Email addresss of ALL HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS; only Gmail please.

2. Functional Email addresses of ALL STUDENTS in their Departments. Both ND I and ND II; Gmail only.
These requirement are urgently needed to fast track the creation of the Institute’s Remote Learning Virtual Classroom Platform towards resumption using virtual learning and still be safe from the ravaging pandemic. In addition, Heads of Departments expected to actively involve in driving these process should ensure that students are contacted and all requirements are readily available.
Thank you all for your Cooperation..

CR-ITM PRAYS

The word which was declared from the Holy Book, states that for every season there is a time. This was manifested in the Cross River Institute of Technology and Management, Ugep, as the Management Staff led by the leadership of the Digital and Amiable Rector Dr. Jeffery Thompson gathered the entire staff and students on February 6 2020 in a one day Solemn Assembly at the Margaret Bassey Event Hall of the Polytechnic to begin the year and 2019/2020 Academic Session with God, first of its kind in the history of the Polytechnic. The theme of the meeting was tagged: Beginning with the Lord. The event was graced by Pastor Dr. Abayomi Adelere, Apostle Frank Omini and other Ministers of the Gospel in attendance.

In a brief welcome and opening remark by the Rector of the Polytechnic Dr. Jeffery Thompson, declared that the event was necessary to help us plan and start the year with God as we commune together as an Institution. He enjoined everyone to have faith in God, believing that is a new dawn with bright hope and future. High points of the event were:

  • Praise and worship session
  • Bible reading
  • Intercessions for the Polytechnic, Students, Staff and Management
  • Intercessions for the Peace of the State and Nation
  • Hymns and Song Ministration
  • Word Charge and Prophetic declarations.

The event was glorious as both staff and students shared the same commune before God in one voice while giving glory to God.
